GERMAN INSURERS
The Managing Director of the German Insurance Association has issued a public statement in which he noted that German insurers remain conscious of their responsibilities despite the end of ICHEIC's compensation process. His statement indicates that specific inquiries connected with a policy issued during the Holocaust era will continue to be examined by the issuing company following the close down of ICHEIC.
Here is the link to the Insurance Association web site containing the statement in German (see last paragraph). The press statement is dated March 20, 2007. http://www.gdv.de/Hauptframe/index.jsp?navi=presse
GENERALI
The Generali insurance company, as part of a court settlement, agreed to amend its original agreement, and extend its deadline for filing claims, until sometime in 2008. A statement on the Generali claims web site indicates that a condition for filing a claim after March 31, 2007 is that the filing must be based on documents obtained from the Bad Arolsen archive.
